MET Rishikul Vidyalaya’s Annual Sports Day 2023 was held with great zeal and excitement in the presence of Shri. Chhagan Bhujbal, Founder Chairman, Mumbai Educational Trust, Mr. Samir Bhujbal, Hon. Trustee, MET, Mr. Pankaj Bhujbal, Hon. Trustee, MET, Mrs. Vishakha Bhujbal, Senior Management Representative, MET, Dr. G. Nagashree, Principal, MRV, Mr. Atul Ranade, Assistant Coach, Fielding, Mumbai Ranji Team, Mr. Sukhwinder Singh, National Swimmer and Recipient of Shiv Chhatrapati Award in Swimming, Talented Students, Teachers and Parents.

The MRV choir performed a delightful rendition of the school anthem. The lighting of the Torch to signify the commencement of the games. The four houses Gandhi, Tagore, Ashoka and Shivaji marched brilliantly in unison and coordination. Heer Kothari (Sports Captain) led the students to take the Sports Pledge. Lastly, the MET Band dazzled the audience with their spectacular formations ending with the famous Bombay March.

Since the theme of the event was ‘Reducing Inequalities’ and ensuring no one is left behind, MET students partnered with the Adapt Foundation students in a relay race. Furthermore, the MRV Cares Club introduced a special initiative to raise funds for cancer patients and other causes.

The MRV parents and students arrived in large numbers on the grounds to cheer as students competed against each other in several fun races, flat races, relay races and Tug of War. The highlight of the event were the magnificent displays by students from Grade 1 to Grade 9 and AS Levels.

The Grand Finale was when Shivaji House received the trophy for the Best March Past and Gandhi House received the trophy for the Best House with the highest points. The Sports flag was lowered, folded and handed over to the Principal and Trustees. Then everyone stood at attention for the National Anthem. And in a beautiful way, the MRV family completed another outstanding Sports Day.
